Hotel Overview

Dating from 1220 and steeped in history this 34 bedroomed hotel is reputedly the oldest purpose built hotel in England. It is situated in Malmesbury and combines luxury with old world charm.

Restaurant and Bar

There is an elegant Edwardian dining room for dinner, offering a wine list "of some repute". There is also a less formal bistro offering light lunches and suppers, and a terrace for al fresco dining in the summer.

The Rooms

The majority of the rooms in the main house have period features. The Coach House, which is connected to the main house by a corridor provides standard rooms, some interconnecting for families. All are ensuite and tastefully decorated, with flat screen TV, DVD/CD, free wired broadband, direct dial telephone and hairdryer.

None on site. Free membership for guests and a gym which is only 2 minutes walk and includes a cardio room, weights room, sauna and jacuzzi.

Bath, Cheltenham, Bristol are all less than 1/2 hour drive, Bourton on the Water, Broadway and the Slaughters less than 45 minutes. Oxford and Stratford can be reached in just under an hour.

The principal meeting room can accommodate up to 32 delegates and has access to secluded garden with patio and tables and chairs. It has recently been refurbished and has wired internet access. Various lounges are also available.

Function Rooms

Licensed for Civil Ceremonies for up to 8 guests and up to 120 in the evenings. Hotel exclusivity is possible.
